DAY PROCEDURE CHECKLIST

At Premier Gastroenterology, we are committed to making your treatment and stay with us as pleasant as possible. To help us to do this, there are few things you can do to prepare for your visit:

On the day of your procedure:
  • Please present to the MAIN hospital reception at Epworth on Level 2, 89 Bridge Rd, Richmond. From here you will be directed to the theatre pre-admission area
  • Please bring your health fund details and Medicare card.
  • Please remove all mascara, heavy make-up and nail polish. The skin and nails provide important signs of circulation.
  • Leave all valuables such as jewellery, credit cards and large sums of money at home.
    Premier Gastroenterology will not be held responsible for lost items.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing that can be stored easily.
  • If you wear glasses, contact lenses, dentures, or a hearing aid, bring along a case to put them in during procedure.
  • Please arrange for someone to pick you up. The sedative medication you received may affect your concentration or coordination and you must not drive for the first 24 hours after your procedure. Your driver may contact the Day Surgery Unit on: 9426 6681 for your discharge time on the day. (As a guide, most patients are discharged within 3-4 hours of admission.)
  • If you live alone, please arrange for someone to stay with you for the first 24 hours after your procedure.
